Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of the ProsperFolio app ("the app") and the ProsperFolio Pro subscription, provided by A4 Apps ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to them.

Important: ProsperFolio shows information about investments. It is not financial advice, and we are not a broker, investment adviser or financial institution.

1. What the app does

ProsperFolio displays information from brokerage accounts you connect, positions you enter manually, a watchlist, market data and news. It is read-only: it cannot place trades, transfer money or change your brokerage account, and it blocks any request that could.

2. Not financial advice

Nothing in the app – including charts, figures, insights, tips, explainers or news – is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any investment. Insights describe your portfolio and explain general concepts only. Investments can fall as well as rise. You are solely responsible for your investment decisions and should seek independent professional advice where appropriate.

3. Accuracy of information

Data comes from third parties, including your brokerage, market data providers and currency exchange-rate providers. It may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate, and we do not guarantee it. In particular: world market figures are shown using US-listed exchange-traded funds that track each market's index, not the index itself; exchange rates are updated daily; trading hours shown do not account for local public holidays; figures from some brokers, such as Interactive Brokers, update only once a day; and manual holdings are only as accurate as the details you enter. Always confirm important figures with your brokerage.

4. Your brokerage account and credentials

You are responsible for obtaining API credentials from your brokerage, for keeping your device secure, and for complying with your brokerage's own terms. Where your brokerage offers read-only or paper-trading keys, we recommend using them. Your relationship with your brokerage is governed by your agreement with them, not by us.

5. ProsperFolio Pro subscription

ProsperFolio Pro unlocks connecting brokerage accounts to the app and keeping them in sync. The rest of the app – manual holdings, prices, watchlist, world markets and news – works without a subscription. If a subscription ends, brokerage syncing pauses; nothing you entered is deleted.
New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. The trial is free and, unless you cancel before it ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription. One trial per Google account.
After the trial the subscription costs £9.99 a year (or the equivalent in your local currency, as shown by Google Play before you confirm) and renews automatically each year until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store (Payments & subscriptions), including during the trial. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro access until the end of the trial or the period already paid for.
Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policies. This does not affect your statutory rights.
If we change the subscription price, Google Play will notify you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent.
Features included in Pro may change as the app is updated; we will not materially reduce what you have already paid for during a billing period.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including by attempting to reverse-engineer it where prohibited by law, interfering with its security, or using it in breach of any law or of your brokerage's terms.

7. Intellectual property

The app, the ProsperFolio name and logo, and the app's content are owned by A4 Apps. Company names, market names and news headlines belong to their respective owners and are shown for information only.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the app working but cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that third-party services it depends on will remain available. We may update, change or discontinue features.

9. Our liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from decisions you make based on information in the app, from inaccurate or delayed third-party data, or from the unavailability of the app or third-party services. Our total liability to you in connection with the app is limited to the amount you paid for ProsperFolio Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or EU, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law where you live.
